Friday 1 September

Registration from 12noon.

Best Dressed Novelty:

1. Style and originality.
2. Attention to detail and appropriateness of outfit. Consideration of the outfit being humorous but tasteful - No nudity allowed.

Saturday 2 September

Registration from 11am to 1pm. Heats start at 1:15pm and finals commence at the conclusion of Race 4 at 2.30pm. 
Please note that entrants may also pre-register for Saturday Fashions on Field between 12noon and 4pm on Friday.

Best Dressed Classic Lady (Over 18)

1. Style and Originality.
2. Appropriateness of outfit for a day at the races. (Keeping in mind the spring racing season and colour will be key).
3. Attention to detail of hat, bag, jewellery, shoes.
4. Exposed shoulders and cleavage are not true Ladies Racewear.
5. Hosiery is not essential (especially if the weather is hot) however it is considered a finishing touch.
6. Appropriate headwear is essential. Traditionally, straw and floral are summer millinery fabrics, felt is not. 
7. Consider an outfit that is timeless and elegantly coordinated.
8. Underwear showing or as part of an outfit is not correct race attire.
9. Impeccable grooming and deportment.

Best Dressed Contemporary Lady (Over 18):

  • 1. Style and Originality.
  • 2. Fashion with an edge – a ‘Stand-alone’ look!
  • 3. Being on ‘trend’, displaying this season’s fashion statements.
  • 4. Clever use of accessory coordination.
  • 5. Appropriateness of outfit for a day at the races. (Keeping in mind the spring racing season and colour will be key).
  • 6. Attention to detail of hat, bag, jewellery, shoes.

  • 8. Underwear showing or as part of an outfit is not correct race attire.
  • 9. Impeccable grooming and deportment.

Best Dressed Gentleman (Over 18):

1. Style and Originality.
2. Appropriateness of outfit for a day at the races.
3. Attention to detail of accessories. Accessories such as cufflinks, lapel flower, hat, and handkerchief should be considered.
4. Jacket optional, tie essential.
5. Style and Originality.

Best Dressed Family (or Couple Over 18):

1. Style and Originality.
2. Appropriateness of outfit for a day at the races.
3. We are not looking for matchy i.e. same coloured tie as the girls dress/hat. We are looking for a family/couple that compliment each other in a subtle manner and present as a    well groomed, elegant, fashionable pair.

Best Dressed Lady and Gentleman in the Trackside Marquee (Saturday):

1. Ladies: Refer to criteria for best dressed Classic or Contemporary Lady
